Welcome to Algebra 2. Please read the following information carefully. Algebra 2 will be a culmination of your mathematics knowledge and an enrichment of your understanding; it will be challenging. A strong background in algebra and geometry is a prerequisite; hard work and consistent practice is crucial for success. If you are willing to put in the work, I can guarantee growth in your math skills and a solid foundation for pre-calculus by the end of the course. I look forward to working with each of you to ensure your success and enjoyment of mathematics, both now and in the future.

Test/Re-Test Policy
You will have an opportunity to retest. Retests are only allowed for a test in which you scored a grade of less than 70%. The maximum grade for any retest is a 70%. If you earn less than a 70% on the retest, the higher of your test grades will count.
If you wish to take advantage of a retest opportunity, the following requirements must be met if you scored below a 60%:
1. All homework must be completed for the given unit.
3. The re-test must be scheduled within one week from receiving original test back.
If you scored between 60-70% you will need to do corrections to your test to earn a 70% at best.

Positive Behavior Guidelines
- Respect others. Value our time together and do not engage in actions or conversations that detract from the learning environment. This course moves very quickly.
- Cell Phone Policy 1) If you touch it, I take it 2) If you fight me, I send it to the office. 3) If I have to take it more than three times it’s a call home and a referral.
- Remember our purpose: learning and developing your critical thinking and math skills. Come to class ready to actively participate, which includes asking questions. Do not be afraid to contribute because you may have made a mistake. Mistakes are part of learning and actually help us form deeper understanding of mathematics.
- Be in your seats when the bell rings.
- First two tardies are verbal warnings
- Third tardy is a call home and detention
- Keep in mind Pre-AP must watch tardies if you want to exempt a final exam.
- Desks clear at all times (bags/purses/etc on the floor or in locker) unless it’s something for class use.
